Garrett Adams

Garrett Adams brings more than 15 years of experience in the home construction and residential remodeling industry to Stay. As a member of the National Association of Home Builders, Garrett is CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialist) certified and has an extremely well-rounded background in project management, design, development, and hands-on carpentry experience. According to Garrett, “I’ve worked hands-on in all phases of home building and renovating, from the foundation to the final finishes.”

Prior to founding Stay, Garrett owned a remodeling and new home construction business in Libertyville, IL, managing all phases of remodeling and construction. Before entering the home construction industry, Garrett, a Chicago native, spent 20 years in the sporting goods industry as CEO of Westmark Sports Inc, a specialty waterski and wakeboard equipment company based in Fairfield, Calif. Garrett founded Stay after experiencing first-hand the challenges of helping an aging parent, “My Dad is in his 70’s and struggles with MS which makes walking and other simple day to day tasks hard. I made some simple modifications to his home to make his life easier and it has had a drastic impact. I knew I could help others like him who are faced with similar situations and also offer peace of mind to family members.”

In his free time Garrett enjoys spending time with his wife of 14 years and two young children, coaching baseball and soccer for the local recreation center and fundraising for the MS Society. He also is a certified adaptive water ski instructor and participates in clinics throughout the summer. Garrett holds a BGS in Business from the University of Iowa, where he was the head coach of the University Rowing team from 1984-86.
